Little Black Dresses

I've been looking forward to this shoot ever sense I took these girls' picture on the beach the day we met. They'll all gorgeous. And can you tell from their perfect smiles they're studying to be dental hygienists- they practice on each other. We had so much fun running around Fairfield freezing to death. Well I was dressed for the weather, but as you can see, they sacrified for the pictures. But I think everyone thought it was worth it. We're looking forward to another shoot in the spring when it's warmer and the tulips are in bloom. I'm already planning the shots...

And the shoot wouldn't have been complete without a little personal time in front of the camera. I loved how I shot them all in the same door way and from the same position, yet their own personalities still shine through.

My New Logo

I recently designed a logo for my friend who is starting a card making business. I decided I needed to think more seriously about what I wanted my logo to look like. I used to sign my pictures with the name "eliza" in the corner, which I did like, but wasn't in love with. So I'm excited to present what I've come up with. I'd love to hear what you think...

"Recess" at Images 2007

I entered my first photography competition, Images 2007, this past week and just opened a letter tonight letting me know the above picture was accepted. I'm really excited. I was told when I was submitting my portfolio over 500 artists from around the state submit annually leaving the judges with about 1,500 entries. They narrow it down to around 40-60 I think. I titled this shot "Recess." It was taken in Antwerp, Belgium. It's always been one of my all time favorite shots.
